The Best Steakhouse in Columbia, SC | Halls Chophouse
1221 Main St #150, Columbia, SC

This is easily one of my favorite spots, and hands down the best steakhouse in Columbia, SC. I would go as far to say it’s the best in the state with locations in Charleston and Nexton, SC as well. Situated across from the State House, Halls offers USDA Prime steaks, fresh seafood, and flawless service in an upscale setting with live music on most weekends. Reservations are recommended most days for the dining room, though bar seating is often available for walk-ins. My go-to picks: the Halls Chopped Salad with blackened chicken for lunch, the bison or wagyu for dinner, and an espresso martini anytime. The wine list is exceptional, and Main Street’s vibrant bar scene is just steps away for a nightcap.

The Best Cafe in Lexington, SC | The Hangar Provisions
109-U Old Chapin Rd, Lexington, SC 29072

If you’re a Friends fan looking for your very own Central Perk in Lexington, The Hangar is it. This is my absolute go-to for breakfast, lunch, and a coffee break, and I find myself here three to four times a week. More than just a coffee shop, The Hangar is one of the few places you can find healthy, made-to-order food while also enjoying a great spot to work, relax, and meet people. For breakfast, you can't go wrong with the Brekky Burrito or the satisfying Brisket Skillet Hash. For lunch, the Ghostrider sandwich is my personal favorite, and the Chopped and Greek salads are both fantastic choices. They also have a huge selection of coffee and smoothie options, but my personal favorite is the delicious iced quad espresso. The Hangar offers a comfortable atmosphere and great food that makes it the perfect stop any time of day.

The Best Italian in Columbia, SC | Madrigal
1821 Gadsden St, Columbia, SC

Columbia’s hidden Italian gem, this spot is known for handcrafted pastas, an intimate ambiance, and a chef-driven take on traditional flavors. The service is fantastic, and the pizzas are anything but ordinary, each one made to order with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. A rotating selection of specials keeps the menu exciting; our recent favorite was the tender, flavorful octopus (pictured above). With only a handful of reservations available each night, tables often book up several days in advance.

The Best Mediterranean in Columbia, SC | Mediterranean Tea Room
1546 Main St, Columbia, SC

A serene café offering fine teas and Mediterranean-inspired small plates, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or light brunch. I recommend the chicken or salmon breast plate with salad and rice with an extra cup of Feta… Everything is fantastic. I don’t know where they get their feta cheese, but I’m guessing heaven.

Great Restaurant Bar in Columbia, SC | Smoked
1643 Main St, Columbia, SC

Trendy and upscale with a Southern flair, Smoked is where barbecue meets sophistication, featuring house-smoked meats, oysters, and craft cocktails. This is a great place to stop in last minute. Smoked has a HUGE bar and fantastic cocktails. A great place for large groups and everything on the menu can be ordered at the bar.

Best Korean in Columbia, SC (Tie) | MOA
1004 Gervais St, Columbia, SC

MOA Korean BBQ & Bar is a vibrant and modern spot in Columbia, SC, that offers a fun and contemporary dining experience with sizzling tabletop grills and creative cocktails. It's considered by many to be the best Korean restaurant in the city, known for its bold flavors and popular dishes like the classic Marinated Beef Bulgogi and the hearty Galbi Stone Bowl Bibimbap. Other standout menu items include the flavorful LA Galbi and the spicy Osam Bulgogi, while the crispy Korean Chicken Wings are a must-try appetizer. Additionally, MOA features a great bar and a separate coffee and bakery section, making it an ideal place to enjoy a complete meal from start to finish.

The Best Korean in Columbia, SC (Tie) | Arirang Restaurant
1943 Decker Blvd, Columbia, SC

Arirang Restaurant is a long-time favorite in Columbia, SC, known for its classic, homemade-style Korean food. Unlike MOA, which has grills at every table, Arirang's kitchen prepares the dishes for you. Arirang is especially famous for its banchan, which are the many small, free side dishes that come with your meal. When you look at the two restaurants, the main difference is the feeling you get. MOA is modern and lively, with a focus on a fun, hands-on experience where you cook your own meat. It's great for a night out with friends. Arirang is more traditional and simple. People go there for the authentic flavors and the classic Korean hospitality. So, if you want a fun and interactive dinner, you'd pick MOA. If you want a more traditional, home-cooked meal with lots of side dishes, you'd choose Arirang.
