Power Point — Lexington, South Carolina.
Power Point is a lakefront stretch of Power Point Lane in Lexington, SC 29072, where a narrow peninsula runs out into Lake Murray on the Lexington side of the lake. About 30 homes line the outer part of the lane, nearly all of them on the water, and a gated enclave of four homes sits at the very tip.
Power Point isn't a single named subdivision with its own association — it's a lakefront lane and the homes along it. The first part of the same lane belongs to Murray Forest, a separate neighborhood with its own guide; Power Point begins where Murray Forest ends and runs out to the tip. We explain how the two fit together below, and you can browse more on our Neighborhoods page.
The Patrick O'Connor Team keeps this guide current and is always happy to answer questions about Power Point.

Market Data as of October 2026
Power Point has only a handful of home sales in a typical year, and the homes are so different — from older lake homes to recent rebuilds, on lots of very different sizes — that a single average would mislead. Call 803-243-0224 and we'll pull the most recent recorded sales for the kind of home you're considering.
Details on this page come from Lexington County public property and road records, the Lexington School District One school locator, our own Murray Forest guide and guide to Lake Murray dock permits and transfers, and a February 2026 Post and Courier story, checked October 9, 2026. Ask us for any recorded restrictions and the latest comparable sales.
Types of Homes
Power Point is single-family lake homes. You'll find a few older homes from the late 1950s through the 1970s, many homes built in the 1980s and 1990s, and a good number of newer or rebuilt homes from the last 25 years, some very recent.
Lots vary widely — some are under half an acre and others run well over an acre — and so do the homes on them. We'll help you compare shoreline, lot, condition, and updates home by home.
Neighborhood Amenities
Power Point doesn't have a community clubhouse, pool, or other shared amenity that we've found; it's a lane of individual lakefront homes. We also haven't found a neighborhood-wide homeowners association covering the lane, but individual homes can carry recorded restrictions. Ask us to check the specific home you're considering.
The four-home enclave on Coatbridge Lane at the tip is different. It's gated, has its own homeowners' company that owns the shared road area, and — according to a February 2026 Post and Courier story — has its own private beach. If you're looking at a Coatbridge Lane home, ask us for the association documents, any dues, and how the gate and road are maintained.
Shopping, Dining, and Recreation
Power Point is on the Lexington side of the lake with a Lexington mailing address. For a day on the water, our Lake Murray boat ramps and access guide covers public launch options around Lake Murray. Tell us what you want close by — groceries, dining, or services — and we'll show you the options.

Home Prices
Power Point prices vary widely with the shoreline, the dock setup, the lot, the size and age of the home, and whether it's a recent rebuild. We don't publish a neighborhood average, because the homes are too different for one number to mean much.

Waterfront Homes
Nearly every home on the outer part of Power Point Lane is on the water, with lakefront homes on both sides of the lane, so shorelines and views face different directions. A few homes near the start of the lane sit back from the water. We'll confirm the shoreline and view for any specific address, and walk you through the survey and the shoreline.
At the very tip, a February 2026 Post and Courier story described views from a Coatbridge Lane home that "stretch all the way to the Dreher Shoals Dam." Views vary home by home, so ask us what a specific property sees.
Lake Murray Access
Lakefront homes here may have their own docks, but dock setups differ from home to home. On Lake Murray, docks, boat lifts, and seawalls are permitted through Dominion Energy, and a dock permit transfers with the home when it sells. Our guide to Lake Murray dock permits and transfers explains what to check before you buy or sell.
We haven't found a shared community dock or boat ramp for Power Point. A 2026 listing on Coatbridge Lane described a dock with a lift and three slips — that's that one home, so don't assume a dock, lift, or slip comes with any other. Being on the water doesn't by itself mean a home has a dock permit, so ask us before you count on one. For launch options, see our Lake Murray boat ramps and access guide.
Location and Commute
Power Point Lane is a paved, state-maintained road that begins off Catawba Trail, which connects to Pilgrim Church Road, and runs about three-quarters of a mile out to the tip of the peninsula, where it ends at private Coatbridge Lane. The lane dead-ends there, and a small cemetery sits along the way. Homes have a Lexington mailing address (ZIP 29072) and are in Lexington County outside town limits.
Power Point and Murray Forest share the same lane: Murray Forest is the first stretch, and Power Point is the outer stretch past it, so check the house number before you assume which one a home is in. Neighboring communities include Whitewater Bay, Kingston Harbour, and Pilgrim Point.
Commute times vary by route and time of day — we're happy to map yours from any address you have in mind.

Buying a Home in Power Point
A few things we help every Power Point buyer check:
- Confirm which area the home is in: Murray Forest (the first stretch of the lane), Power Point (the outer stretch), or the Coatbridge Lane enclave — a few homes near the start of the lane are in neither
- Confirm the specific home is lakefront, and ask about any dock and its permits — never assume a dock, lift, or slip comes with the home
- On older homes, ask about the roof, systems, and seawall or shoreline condition
- For a Coatbridge Lane home, ask for the homeowners' company documents, any dues, and how the gate and private road are maintained
- Ask for a copy of any recorded restrictions on the specific home
- Ask for the HOA or covenant documents and the current dues, if any, before you write an offer
- Confirm school assignment for the specific address with the school district
- Compare recent sales of truly similar homes rather than a neighborhood average
